Adoptions

Procedure, possibilities & costs

We have many cats and kittens looking for their forever home. Adoptions can be made from anywhere in the world and preparation time is dependent upon the country.

We require a donation for all our adopted cats. This contributes towards the neuteringcosts, veterinary fees, food, bedding and litter etc while the cats are in our care.

How does it work?

A cat that travels is required to have a microchip. The chip contains a microchip on which the registration number is stored. This registration number can be read using a special reader. The chip has no effect on its health.

Other important information

  • It takes 4 months to prepare a cat to travel abroad and is a set process to combat rabies required by most countries.

  • The cat will also need a carrier / travelbag and a harness, suitable for its journey. This will vary according to the airline and we can give advice. We will provide essential harness and training to your cat to get used to both.

  • If you are interested in adopting one of our cats, click on the button in the adoption page (cat profiles) and fill in the form. We hope you understand why we are asking for more information about you. Our cats have often been through a lot and we want to do all we can to make sure each adoption is successful for the cat and for you.

  • We will also ask you to contribute to the cost of caring for the cat during the waiting phase.
The cost will vary between €3 and €5 per day.

  • A cat flying a cat to the UK MUST travel in the hold and arrive at the Heathrow Animal Centre where they are checked and have their paperwork verified. Because of the cost of flying individual cats to the UK we work with others to send 7 at the same time. Everything is organised by us and all you need to do is collect them from Heathrow.
