Donations
We couldn’t do what we do without the generous support of the public. Dahab is home to many stray cats. Some were born, and have lived their whole lives, on the streets. Others, sadly, have been abandoned by their owners.
We rely on donations to pay for neutering, medicines and treatments, and food for those cats in our foster care. Every penny donated goes to support the stray cats and the cats in our care.
We welcome all donations, large or small, one-off support or ongoing sponsorship.
We can also accept bank transfer payments into our bank account in UK or Egypt.

How do we spent your donation?
With your help, we can afford the following things:
Food & water
We ensure our cats receive daily care, providing dry food every day and wet food once a day for all kittens. The adult cats in the garden enjoy wet food a minimum of three times a week. In addition, we give them fresh bottled spring water, as the tap water here contains too much salt, which can be harmful to their organs. All of this adds to our daily expenses.
We use each month in total on food and water around $ 250 (12.000 EGP)
Cat litter
Each of our locations uses about 0.5 to 1 bag of litter per week to maintain cleanliness for the 5-10 litter boxes in each house. This helps us keep the spaces clean and allows us to monitor the cats' health by checking their waste regularly. Providing enough litter for all our cats is an ongoing expense.
We use each month in total on 5 fresh litter bags around $ 30 (1.500 EGP)
Keeping our shelter clean is essential for the health of our cats. We regularly use cleaning supplies like disinfectants, bleach, mops, and brushes to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of disease. This is especially important with so many cats in our care, and maintaining cleanliness requires constant restocking of cleaning materials, which adds to our ongoing costs.
We use each month in total on cleaning equipment around $ 50 (2.500 EGP)
Cleaning equipment
Many of our cats require regular vet visits for vaccinations, neutering, and treatments for illnesses or injuries. Additionally, we provide ongoing medication for cats with chronic conditions. These medical expenses are vital to ensuring their health and well-being, but they add up quickly and represent a significant portion of our budget.
This cost item is difficult to estimate, but on average we spend around: $ 200 (10.000 EGP)
Medications & vet visits
To provide a safe and comfortable space for our cats, we rent multiple locations that serve as their home. These shelters offer room to play, rest, and recover. Covering the rent for these spaces is one of our largest expenses, but it's essential to keeping our rescue efforts going.
We pay each month in total on the rental of both shelters $ 631 (30.500 EGP)
