Taking Supplies to Blue Hole & Ras Abu-Galum

A short 7 kilometres to the north of Dahab is the world famous dive site, the Blue Hole and a little further on is the small Bedouin village of Ras Abu-Galum, located in the national park of the same name and also popular with divers and snorkelers.

The lack of tourism in these days of the global pandemic and visitors to these locations have impacted on these areas and we were asked to provide food for the animals. After a lot of speedy planning and with a great team in place the first mission took place yesterday.

There was hay for the horses, dog and cat food, corn and chicken food. The team reviewed the situation and health of the animals and came back with a follow up plan of building a shelter for the horses and keeping food supplies up together with necessary medications and another TNR at some time.

The food will be well looked after and distributed according to need. We are very thankful to those people who donated goods and money, to the boat owner who took us, all the kids who loaded the boat, Francesca and to Sam who alerted us to this issue and our colleagues Dominique, Caroline and Dene.

Below are pictures of some of the cats we met on our visit.
