Poppy
One of the biggest challenges in Dahab is Herpes Viral Conjunctivitis, a condition that often affects kittens, typically passed down from their mothers. The symptoms can be severe, and if left untreated, the kittens can lose vision in one or both eyes. Poppy came to us with serious eye problems and an upper respiratory infection, and despite the best efforts of our volunteers and veterinarians, he lost both of his eyes.
However, Poppy is a true fighter. Despite his blindness, he is a playful, gentle kitten who has so much love to give. He runs around and explores his surroundings, occasionally bumping into things, but this doesn’t bother him at all; he simply carries on with his joyful spirit. Poppy is very loving and often attaches himself to those around him, following your feet, seeking cuddles, and happily snuggling up next to you on the sofa.
Poppy is comfortable with other cats, kittens, and even Chester, the shelter's Yorkshire Terrier. He is looking for a caring and patient owner who can help him navigate life, offering him a home filled with love, safety, and understanding. If you have a heart full of compassion and the time to guide this brave kitten, Poppy could be the perfect companion for you.
