Volunteering
We are looking to recruit volunteers, over the age of 21 years, to assist us with operational running of the sanctuaries. We would be particularly interested to recruit vets, trainee vets, veterinary assistants. There are two options: If available, accommodation included (in the cathouse) or live-out, you are living somewhere else but will come to the shelter before your shift starts.
To be able to help us, you must meet the following points:
Some form of practical experience with cats.
Deep love for cats.
Good level of physical fitness.
Good spoken and written English skills.

At our shelter, we offer comfortable accommodation with space for up to five guests per time. The house features:
Three bedrooms:
Two rooms, with two single beds
One room with a single bed
A shared bathroom
A spacious, fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare meals and relax
You'll also have access to free Wi-Fi, and water and electricity are included in your stay at no extra cost. The house is a welcoming space where you can enjoy comfort while contributing to the care of our cats.

If you’re staying in the free accommodation, we kindly ask that you work
a 5-hour shift each day. During your shift, you’ll be responsible for:Feeding the cats
Cleaning their living spaces
Giving them plenty of attention and affection
Your help is essential in keeping our shelter running smoothly and ensuring the cats are well cared for.

The minimum stay for live-in volunteers is 2 weeks, and the maximum is 6 weeks. However, if you'd like to stay longer, we’re happy to discuss extending your stay on a case-by-case basis. Please note that we always need to check for availability, so be sure to reach out in advance to confirm your dates.

Yes, all new volunteers will receive comprehensive training to ensure you feel comfortable and knowledgeable about caring for the cats and navigating the shelter environment. Our training program covers essential topics, including:
Cat care basics: Feeding, grooming, and recognizing health issues
Safety protocols: How to handle the cats safely and securely
Cleaning procedures: Best practices for maintaining a hygienic environment
Understanding cat behavior: Recognizing signs of stress or illness and how to respond
Daily routines: An overview of the shelter's operations and your responsibilities

For any questions or problems, your first point of contact is always Anas, our medical manager. He is readily available to answer your questions and help with any issues. If you still need further assistance, you can reach out to Gillian for additional support.

Yes, we welcome volunteers who wish to work together! Just make sure to let us know in advance so we can accommodate your request.

You can be picked up by Ahmed, our personal driver. If you let us know in advance where you are arriving and at what time, he will be there to assist you and take you to the shelter.
