Caring for cats through shelter
Our cat sanctuary in Dahab: Two Homes, One Mission
In the heart of Dahab, we have two homes that together provide a safe haven for over 65 cats. Both homes are specially designed to care for, rehabilitate, and prepare cats for their new families. Here, they receive the love and medical attention they deserve in an environment where they can relax and thrive.
Providing
While many other organizations focus on TNR and local support, we are able to offer a safe space in our homes where the cats can stay, recover, and receive 2-weekly treatments. This allows us to provide more comprehensive care for those in need, giving them the best chance at a healthy, happy future.
First house
The first house is managed by Gillian and Anas, the founder and medical manager of the shelter. Together with a dedicated team, they ensure that the cats receive all the care and attention they need. Gillian lives in this house herself, meaning she is available day and night to care for the cats. This house shelters around 40 cats, ranging from tiny kittens to adults who have been through a lot. Here, they receive intensive care, especially the weak or sick cats that aren’t yet ready for adoption. With unwavering dedication, we focus on their recovery while continuously searching for loving adoptive homes, both locally and internationally. Gillian and Anas know each cat personally; their unique personalities, their medical needs and make sure they get the best chance for a happy life.
Second house
The second house provides space for another 25 cats. This is where cats who are ready for adoption or those who can live in groups are housed. It’s a safe place where they can socialize and adjust to being around other cats, which is crucial for their well-being. This house is managed by a team of volunteers who come daily to feed, clean, and socialize with the cats.
